More information about Thomson Reuters and its financial performance can be found on http://www.ThomsonReuters.com Thomson Reuters is seeking a resourceful, dynamic reporter to expand the commodities and energy team in Jakarta, with a focus on breaking news on Indonesia's mining industry and coal/minerals trading. The surge in global coal and other base metals prices has put a renewed focus on Indonesia, the world's biggest exporter of thermal coal and tin, and a major supplier of other minerals. But with environmental issues and government policy clouding the outlook for big investors and markets alike, the need for solid facts and keen insight is greater than ever. The reporter will become the third member of the Indonesia commodities and energy team, and will also be involved in reporting on everything from OPEC policy to Kuala Lumpur palm oil futures trade to LNG exports.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate would have fluent bahasa Indonesia and written English, several years' experience covering the commodities/energy sector, excellent contacts in these sectors, a proven ability to break news, and a willingness to travel, whether to conferences or to visit remote mining sites.
